Hackerspace members and friends at SwampCon

Siria, who runs Siriasly: Geeky Handmade Crafts & Tutorials and presented at Hackerspace Demo Night in December on how to make plush toys, is selling cute handmade plushies at SwampCon 2013.

Jay, a talented painter and wife of our member Clint, is displaying and selling acrylic paintings and prints. Jay’s art is going to appear soon on the walls of Gainesville Hackerspace as part of our gallery series.

SwampCon 2013 runs January 12th-13th in the colonnade at the Reitz Union (UF campus). If you like crafts, anime, scifi, and nice people, check it out! Plus, admission is free!

Table at ToneRite Concert Series

We got a lot of visitors to our table last night at the ToneRite-sponsored concert event. People launched Lego horses from Allen’s trebuchet and tested their reaction times using Clint’s Arduino-powered timer.

Everyone there was stoked to learn about Hackerspace, and we handed out around 20-30 flyers.

Thanks for helping with the table, Clint and Ian!
